Down one myself-just sold a clean, all original '83 Trek 600 a few days ago. The '88 Trek 520 got the nod for todays ride, as it usually does.

Not to mention old fart pack rats like myself. The Trek 360 I bought new back in '88 is still ready to ride. It's just not quite as fast as it used to be. I'm not sure how that happened.

Steel frames for men of steel Friggen Brooks seat. You're golden if you can still feel your privies. Damn ! I know that Lon Haldeman raced numerous times across country with a Brooks soaked in motor oil but schid now a survivor. Happy trails Birdy.

Yep, all good stuff that has lived with me at one time or another. The Prestige is most notable for its use on Panasonic's Team America ( Phoque Yeah!) bike that I'll be riding today.

I would not buy something that runs on any kind of primer given the possibility of primer shortages and even regulations. In fact, why not buy a flintlock? Really. Rocks aren't going away anytime soon.

I had an '88 or '89 Trek 970 that I gave away about 15yrs ago. I've been "bike less" ever since until about a week ago when I bought a new Kona Dew. Got a new seat on it last Thursday, it approximates a saddle fit for a Clydesdale now.
I can walk on water.......................but I do stagger a bit on alcohol.

Cool. For a steel frame bikes, yes it does. Ti gets either March 25 in warm weather climes, or June 4 in cold old WI to celebrate its space age goodness.

Last steel bike I owned was a Univega Alpina ~1987. My first good mountain bike. Shortly after I bought a Klein Pinnacle (alumium) frame and swapped over the parts from the Univega and have ridden aluminum bikes ever since. Honestly the ride difference on mountain bikes with big tires is minimal.........
