More than 60 US Secret Service Uniformed Division officers and special agents were injured starting Friday night through Sunday morning near the White House as protests rocked Washington, DC, following the death of George Floyd last week, according to a statement from the Secret Service.

The officers and agents were injured when protesters threw “projectiles such as bricks, rocks, bottles, fireworks and other items,” according to the statement. “Personnel were also directly physically assaulted as they were kicked, punched and exposed to bodily fluids.”
CNN teams were on hand for much of the protests and witnessed protesters throwing objects at officers and pulling temporary fencing away from them.

Eleven Secret Service employees were transported to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

The Secret Service said no one crossed the White House fence and no one being protected was ever in danger.

Officers made one arrest near the White House on Saturday night.

They need more protection on President Trump. There can be no misguided attempts to gain entry.

He had plenty.

If they had really breached anything other than a few temporary barriers they threw together, you would have seen.

I doubt you have half of what it takes to guard a wet paper sack of dogschit from a wandering chihuahua.

Wonder where the D.C. police are in all this? Democrat mayor and 13 seats on the city council, none held by a republican. Who would've guessed? Let D.C. burn to the ground. Trump would be happy to move the white house to Mar-A-Lago I'm sure... [bleep] D.C., Arlington, Fairfax, Loudon and Prince William Counties. Hope they move out to the 'Burbs and burn NoVa to the ground.

Would've been more than one arrest, that's for certain.

I am not buying this, at all.

More than 60 Secret Service officers and agents were injured when protestors threw "projectiles such as bricks, rocks, bottles, fireworks and other items” and “Personnel were also directly physically assaulted as they were kicked, punched and exposed to bodily fluids.”, all with just a single arrest?

"Officers made one arrest near the White House on Saturday night."

One arrest of the thugs who injured 60 Secret Service agents.

There is something radically wrong with that picture. Those Secret Service agents should have been breaking elbows, knee caps, ankles, noses, teeth, etc., and arresting the thugs en masse. Optics? Who cares? We are beyond worrying about "optics."

A whole lot of American citizens are beginning to wonder "What the Hell is Trump doing, allowing this to be done in Washington, D.C.?" Worried about the Nov. election and "optics" stopping these wild thugs? He'd better worry about millions of once-supporters fed up with the thugs with nothing happening to them as they rampage. Voting for Biden? No, just staying at home and not bothering to vote.

This is a full scale insurrection and needs to be treated as such. The more the cretins are allowed to rampage without anything happening to them, the more they will be empowered to continue

Whomever is in charge of directing the S.S. protective detail should be fired immediately. Or, if he or she were directed by someone in the White House to "do nothing" to the attackers, then that person should be fired. This is completely unacceptable.

These attacking thugs have now learned they have nothing to fear even if they attack the White House -- OUR White House -- and tear it up if they want. Laughing all the way to their next target.

Surely you've heard of the 1st Amendment. "the right of the people peaceably to assemble" (and attack the president) . The constitution is a living document and interpretations must evolve and adapt.

That was a different secret service. There are two separate agencies in secret service

I agree with this. We were there in January, and the guys on the outer perimeter were heavily armed and appeared to be in prime-of-life shape. I can only imagine what could be brought to bear from the roof and sky.

They should all get the "blue flu" for a few days and show the bosses how it feels to be thrown to the sharks with no (ability) for self defense.
Maybe then they will get the green light to protect themselves and those they serve correctly.
