Brees is just another football player, and folded like a wet rag when his fans bitched. You're wrong Sam. The man is as good and honest as the day is long. He was asked a direct question, which he answered the same way it was asked 5 years ago. It was brought up again because of the kneeling that WILL happen once the season starts. He had no ill intent, but he should have known the atmosphere has hardened to conservative people like him. I truly wish he wouldn't have apologized, but I at least know he meant what he said. The man has been a model fixture and the face of the organization since 2006. He still lives in a house in New Orleans. You can walk right up to the wrought iron gate. He doesn't hide in a gated community. He is and has invested millions in the community. He did not deserve the backlash. Clyde

When $$$ and people's livelihood enters the equation, some people will say anything. I think we would all like to think we would stand firm on our convictions, but until we face the financial decision Brees faced, it is still not certain what we would do. His first Patriotic thoughts and statement came from his heart and was true and honest. Then "they" got to him and he folded like a cheap suit. He's a set for life multi millionaire. He could have shot them the bird and lived la Dolce Vita on what he's already banked. OTOH I pretty much lost a career because I didn't cave in general and told the truth in one meeting in particular. Brees probably has more "loose change" than my net worth. I can't stand it when people say what they really mean and walk it back to be PC.

So LeBron----If I publicly urinate on your grandmothers grave and say that I did
that because they provided no public restroom handy for me personally to use
and I in no way meant to disrespect her,
that is okay.
Disrespect is Disrespect.
No matter how bad you have it in this country, you have it relatively good. This whole
issue is a two way street, but only one lane is being wrongfully blamed.
Instead of blaming others, get off you high horse and do some go----like Drew does.
