Just about all done. I have 1 more WI tag this week and then I'll take the Burris FF3 off the 12ga. and put it on the 20. Hope I don't have to modify the SpeedBead mount too much adapting to the 20ga. frame. Might end up having my gun smith mill the receiver out to mount the red dot. Started off as a youth model with the 21" barrel, which it keeps. Installed a Wolff upgraded firing pin spring, a Volquartsen Exact Edge ejector, Knoxx BlackHawk adjustable pistol grip recoil absorbing stock, Knoxx extended forearm and a TRUGLO .565" Head-Banger choke tube. Also picked up a case of Winchester Long Beard XR 3" #5's, so plenty to get acquainted with. Got better pricing and free shipping buying a case. Won't be able to shoot it until Friday or Saturday. Went with the #5's for now, but definitely plan on trying the TSS shells.

I bought one of the 20 ga youth models with a laminated stock several years back to turkey hunt with. Other than an extra full tube it is just as it left the factory. But didn't find any shells that patterned tight enough for me to have any confidence in using it so I went back to the 12 ga. I decided to try some different shells this year and found that Winchester load worked just fine. That is the gun I hunted with this year. Our season ended last week (March 21-May15) without me taking a bird. But I enjoyed carrying that shotgun.

Some of those high end shells are $13 every time you pull the trigger. I don't want a turkey bad enough to pay that.

They just want constant reassurance that what they believe is the truth.

This. The TSS is the future of small bore turkey hunting.
Had a buddy kill one at 30 yards with a 410. Killed like a 12 he said.

TSS May be great but too much $$$ IMO. I’ve been shooting Magnum Blend for awhile in 12 ga. Have killed several over 50 yards. I have a buddy that uses it in his 20 and says the same.

Guess I'm old school. But I still believe "Whatever a 20 gauge can do--a 12 gauge can do better" I'll stick with my 12 gauge Remington 870. Bob

Same here. I carry a 12 Ga 870 Magnum. Never found weight to be an issue.

I used to run and gun with a Remington SP10, this isn't about weight, at least not for me.... yet. It's about something to do, just messin around with it, exploring something different. And from all I'm reading, with the advancement in shot technology, the sub-bores can/do really challenge the mighty 12.

I hear ya. It’s always neat to try something different but I hear the weight thing mentioned a lot.
