I love it so far! smile

It has a wireless outside unit that goes outside, and a base station inside that records rainfall, temps and wind info.

Since I installed it yesterday, it has recorded 1.5 inches of rain! (Maybe I should have gotten one sooner..? )

Outside unit mounted about 12' up in a clearing.

I got the non-connected one.

They make one that connects to wifi, and you can monitor it from anywhere with a phone ap. But I'm rarely gone from here long enough to mess with that..

It's been severe drought here too.

Just now started to rain a bit.

Yeah, even the one at the NWS station at the regional airport failed during Hurricane Harvey.

The can only estimate winds of 120mph plus during that...

I have a better method now. If the oak trees are sideways, you can count on winds over 100mph! smile

Perhaps take cover prior to that! Our 74+ mph winds don't get names. smile

Seems like it's caused lots of rain since I put it up. smile

Had 3.25" in just over an hour yesterday afternoon!

First "tank rain" in over 2 years.

Catfish are happy!

Anyone in need of rain........................ I'm for hire.

All I gotta do is trailer my lawn tractor to your place, start it up and mow. Rain guaranteed in under 30 minutes.

I was thinking the same thing yesterday, while making plans to move some machinery to a project to pull brush... (right before the rain hit) crazy

That is pretty cool. My kids are all young enough to be interested in the weather. Might need to get one. I am worried about the girls when they hit teenage years. I have a flagpole in a clearing that would be perfect.

Glad you are getting the much needed rain. Pond looks great.
