I can finally do the finish work on the stock, which is what I like. So with a a nice sunny day and a little dash of mineral spirits I wanted to get a look at the wood, which I haven’t done in years. Husqvarna Mauser 6.5x55, Shilen barrel. Haven’t decided on recoil pad color yet. Bluer called, said there’s a minor thing to fix on the trigger, but should be on her way soon. I haven’t done a thing to the wood since I took this but I plan to take an inch off the butt, and I think we are going with a red recoil pad. I’ll be using laurel mountain forge finish. Got the first coat of finish on last night. Only took me two years to do a couple hours of work.
