Alaska flights expensive?
Just got 4 RT tickets to Anchorage for ~$900?

I’d hit the SE coast. Somewhere between Wilmington and Charleston. Lots of great little towns, islands, food, etc....

Way I see it,...if you don't know where to go, you don't really want to go anywhere.

Go to Yellowstone and canoe from Lewis Lake to Shoshone Lake. Shoshone is the largest lake in the lower 48 you can't drive to. Camp at Shoshone for a couple to 3 days, see the geothermal stuff on the upper end of the lake, fish for lake trout, and paddle back down to the put in at Lewis Lake.

You can rent canoes or kayaks and just about everything else you need in Jackson. You will need a permit to stay on Shoshone Lake though. We did this a few years ago and had a blast. Skeeters can be a bit thick if you aren't ready for them around camp though.

What about a raft trip down the Salmon or Middle fork of the Salmon?

Alaska Air.
Granted, the dept city is Seattle. Bought them yesterday. It was $219 a piece.

Then fly to Boise or Spokane and see Idaho from Bonner's Ferry to Stanley. Rent a high clearance or 4x4 vehicle and you will not be disappointed.

You'd have to call to make sure on the canoe thing but, I got pics from a family member a couple days ago as they were touring the park.

Canada border shutdown has killed my trip at the end of the the month. Looked at a dozen camps in MN, all full or locked down. Looked at Teton and Yellowstone, parks open, 90% of facilities shutdown or booked full, rooms available outside the parks. Covid is still killing vacations.

There's a new country. Supposed to be awesome. You can fly into Seattle and catch a cab there.

Drive along the south shore of Lake Superior and up to the Canadian border. Get a guide to take you fishing. However , something tells me this is nothing new for you .
