Cheap beanless Walmart store brand. White label I believe. We’ve tried it all! Also good slathered over a few eggs with cheese on top. All that on top of leftover pasta if available...

There is no better drunk food in the world than Gold Star coneys. Even if you taste it twice it tastes good the second time as well.

Bun, Dog, Chile, Cheese. If you feel fancy onions. I remember they were cheap as fuuuugggg and amazing when I was learning how to, well do a lot of things.

Even not inebriated, there is no better version of that fine dish. Any that say otherwise are uncultured, and tasteless fuggs with an underdeveloped palate.

We are never, ever going to eat Skyline or Gold Star.

Ever. At least on location.

We do however intend to make some at home and put it on spaghetti noodles.

Cheese and onions. Sounds fascinating.

Where are all of the Pennsylvania guys. Holy Fook. My surrogate Mother is from Altoona Pa. Texas hot dogs two locations, down town for 102 years and a later location. We were their for about a week and a half. Visited the two sisters and didn't get to do a bunch of touristy stuff cause it was early March.

That part made for a nice visit to Gettysburg since it wasn't packed and it was the best weather day of the trip.

Those dogs are addicting. The first trip was a meh, good but not a knock it out of the park thing. After, I started thinking about them. Then it was when are we getting lunch and would it be a Texas hot dog. Remembering back I think I was at one or the other 10 times. Addicting.

I do need to see if they ship. Their chili is made with ground up hotdogs.

Whatever The Varsity puts on their chili dogs obviously didn’t make the cut to get canned. The stuff is toxic, and oddly delicious.

If I’m buying a can for chili dogs, I just get the cheapest no bean chili on the shelf.

I will bring some over and leave it on your porch this deer season. Don't shoot me.

I always get those better cheddar brats when I go camping or hunting. Roast them on a stick over the fire while heating up a can of Stag chili in the fire. Put the better cheddar on a bun, pour some Stag chili on it, if you need more cheese use spray can cheese sharp cheddar or bacon cheddar.

Put TP on your pack before hiking off after something the next day.

Krystal’s has a fine gourmet chili they top fries with.

A handful of bacon cheese Krystal’s and an order of chili cheese fries the schit(s)!

Tony Packos if you can get it. From Toledo Ohio. Pretty good for canned sauce.

Nalley's is my brand. I dote on the Jalapeno version by itself. For chili dogs, they make a Thick version with less liquid. All it needs is a few generous squirts of your favorite hot sauce. They also make a Cheese and an Onion version besides their Original. And a no-beans one, IIRC.

I've tried Wolf, Stag, and a couple others but none come close to Nalley's.

Nalley's if you don't have a little time to make your own.

It's easy to make up. Just fry a lb. of ground beef, W/finely diced onion, then drain and add catsup to the consistency you like.

Nah, too toxic.

The commercials looked so good too!

Maybe the one I went to was a crapper.

Exact same experience here, Jimbo. I always saw the commercials and thought "man! I wish we had one close by!"

Then we got one.

It sucks....bad.

The best coneys ever were at a greasy spoon Greek restaurant next to the movie theater. The father of the then current owner bought wieners from my grandfather;s meat market, made to order. Dad said the real secret was the lean all beef wiener. But the closest to the chili that I've found (so far) was a Cincinnati Chili recipe. Much better than any canned I've tried.

Gummy bear poisoning, I fear. Little hell bears.
