Ha! The reason "the girls" were looking hard to find the gallbladder was that I had mine taken out last year.... I had heard all sorts of stories about how it was no big deal not having a gallbladder…. "just don't eat triple cheeseburgers you'll be fine...". It took my digestive system 7 or 8 Months to start functioning reasonably well again.... I lost 25 pounds. Sadly I'm starting to find some of those lost pounds again....


Pretty sure I set myself up to gain those pounds back.... While I could barely eat I spent a bunch of time watching YouTube cooking (food porn) videos.....

It cost me some money....oh well. Can't take it with me.

Just gotta figure out what scope to put on it.

Id like to see a Ruger American in 9.3x62 .. absolutely wonderful round , especially with 286gr semi-spritzers...
I had a older Mauser that was chambered in 9.3x62 ... really thumped anything I tried it on .. I never recovered a bullet.. Two holes .36 cal in bigger out .
But a lightweight lesser exspensive quality bolt gun
( like the American) would make a excellent rifle for any biggame in North America..

They do make that in .338, stainless, no less. Not too far from your idea. Don't know if the barrel on say, a .30:06, is heavy enough to rebore to 9.3; maybe .35.

Every time I visit their site, the stinkers have dreamed up something else I like. They already have a SS version of the Custom Shop Competition 10/22.

Didn't like the basketweave checkering on that french walnut hawkeye, or I might've had one, like the plastic stock American even less, but love 35s so that's a good thing cause I don't need another temptation.

I have two 358 Winchesters, two 9.3X62s, a 9.3X57, 2 9.3X74s and still want a Ruger RAR in 358 Winchester. Why? I don't know. Guess I'm just a medium bore whore. Rusty

There is a valid reason for the 358, so keep at it till yah find one that suits you. Like you, I too use a 9.3x62. But when the terrain gets steep, I reach for the lighter 358 rifle. I don't own many guns, and have no room for collecting guns, but a short action light weight 358 is a justified expense. It offers 75% the power of the 9.3. In my case a rifle that's almost 2lbs lighter.

I have one browning blr in 358 win and a browning a bolt micro hunter in 358. (Was a grice gun shop special run a few years back). Awesome caliber and wonderful results from 20" barrel guns.

I have a .358 in a Browning BLR it is the only lever action I have scoped. It is shockingly accurate out to 300 yards on par with most bolt actions. I will hold a tad over 1.5" at that range. Ive never had a lever action shoot that well. Unfortunately I need to thin the herd and it is going on the sales rack but not because i dont like it, I love it. Several of my friends though want it way worse than I need it. You can't go wrong with a .358 it may not have great sales but it is a very well designed cartridge and inherently accurate. That is what we are all looking for isnt it. It doesnt kick bad either.

All you 35 antis please leave the 35s to us. They are terrible. They won't shoot a 225 Gr Accubond to 400 yards with aplomb. They are short range guns only. Use the 338s. Be Well, Rustyzipper.
