Did you bag it with your center fire .22 long rifle equivalent cartridge (that I'm forgetting the name of???)

Just killed one.
Fredericksburg, VA Cqn you post a picture? I think you may be confusing it with a cicada killer, which is native and harmless.
Don't blame me. I voted for Trump.

Nailed with a baseball hat followed by a heel stomp. I have a pic but no way to post at present. The li’l bastid was aggressive towards the oldest son who was helping the granddaughter low bubbles in the front yard. Body length 2”+ Wingspan ~2.5” Color pattern matched every photo I’ve seen on the ‘net. I’m aware of the Euro Hornet variety, and this one did not speak French.

You whack it out of the air? How much lead? Those skills never leave, do they?
Good kill.

Most likely a cicada killer. I just saw my first one a couple days ago. Big sum beech. Saw it take out a cicada bigger than itself in mid air, then pick it up and fly off with it.
Jap hornets are even bigger.

Hat, not bat. Overhead swat. Whack when it hit the sidewalk and a little crunch from the stomp. Bastid was still alive and tried to fly. The boy stomped it again...crunch...still walking. Damn near pulled the gun on it I did. He bagged it and will be reporting it to the state. He’s been here 10 years and never, ever saw one of these boogers.
It is not a cicada killer.
