Pale Rider was just a remake of Shane. Plot and even some of the lines were the same.

And lot of parallel scenes with Josey Wales and Unforgiven.

"Western" is synonymous with "the same fugking story as last time."

Wonder how many of those are still on Netflix. Assuming Dirty Harry is gone at least.

Best scene in that movie. Ol Clint wasn't even in it, but nowadays he's older than that actress was but still making movies!
BTW, wasn't she the same actress that played the old lady with an attitude in outlaw Jose Wales?

Good news is that it had a happy ending because I survived. I came within an inch of my life as organ failure set in. I'm grateful that God miraculously brought a vision of charcoal to my mind and where to find it. Then he gave me enough strength to drag myself off my back, get to it and eat it before dying. It absorbed the poison she put in the food and I recovered.

Someone once asked me if I were to die today, if I was 100% sure if I would go to heaven. I was not at the time, but can now answer differently.
Has anyone ever cared to ask you about that?

I think that movie has more quotable one liners than any I know. I'll have to check who wrote that script.

Quite a few (most) of his movies have
his women in them, some of them
were just more short term than others

Any love for Play Misty For me. A bit of a departure but thought he was good in it. Catching the knife barehanded from the crazy gal and the npunching her in the face.....good times.

That's Ruth Gordon in the Every Which Way movies. If you liked her in those, check out Harold and Maude and Where's Poppa?. She's a riot.

She wasn't in The Outlaw Jose Wales. I suspect you're thinking of Paula Trueman.

Thanks Natman,

I guess they don't look alike after all.
It's the hight challenged sassy attitude that had me thinking that.
I was waiting for her to get an attitude and say,
"Where's the Beef!". LOL

I've never seen those movies. I should check those out.

You're in for a treat. Definitely see Harold and Maude and Where's Poppa?. They're both dark, edgy and very, very funny.

A couple of terrific movies he directed: Flags of Our Fathers and Letters from Iwo Jima. The battle of Iwo Jima, told from the American and Japanese point of view. Makes a great double feature or back to back nights. It was really interesting to see some of the same battles from both perspectives.
