A 1911 of any brand would not be my choice to ride in the floorboard but cheap 1911's are not the most trouble free guns out there when given proper care, add in 9mm and it's a trifecta of opportunity to choke.

1911's are not Glock's. I know a few guys that shoot RI's and they run pretty well once you change out the cheap parts. Can't imagine these being any better but I've only looked at a sample of one and did not shoot it. The dealer trying to interest me in it was much more impressed with it than I was.

Every time a 1911 in 9mm is sold, the ghost of John Browning stomps a kitten. I detest the little quail eating bastards, but I'd hate to be responsible for something like that.

Bought my first .45 in the late 80's, an Auto Ordinance that rattled like a 52 Chevy farm truck, traded for a Springfield, then a second Springfield and last was a Kimber Classic and found happiness.

For that sort of job, go with a striker fired gun like an M&P Shield. Less maintenance required to stay reliable.

I know that and they know that.
We are wondering however about this gun in particular that gives the appearance of a good deal for the proposed task.
A bit more background, it would be Nash looking to buy. Why 9mm? lots of cheap ammo that he does not have to load himself. Why not a real Colt? The ones we have been around were not without faults that one would hope to avoid by purchasing in that price range. Why not a Springfield? That was the first choice until we saw so many good reports on these Turkish Wonders. (and we have not personally seen or heard firsthand of them in 9mm) Said shooter is very accomplished with revolvers and autos. also very learned is teardown and maintenance on 1911, Glocks, Ar's etc. He does not mind having to upgrade parts to keep things shooting correctly. He particularly likes a miniscule Browning 1911 that has been shot pretty much daily by him for the past several years. ( A most generous gift to my sons by a Campfire Member) He is a rather good hand at draw and shoot, aerial targets and prefers the 1911s or revolvers for that. Hence the want for cheap, factory ammo. Lotsa rounds fired on a young guy's pay. His handguns also tend to get worn down to a finish that looks like nickel gone bad rather quickly. Not from abuse, just get drawn, carried, and shot that much.

I know. I'm just joking.

Hell, even I would buy one if I came across it.

They should make a stainless 1911. For $400 or so, that would be a real teeza.

All of the nay sayers can say what they want... just meet me at the range and lets shoot you 1911 and my Tisas government model side by side.... My buddy and his Les Baer went home sad this last weekend... until he went by the gun store and bought him a Tisas 1911 government model... his shot as good as mine did... 1/2 inch at 15 yards easy... and for 349.... yes that is one great deal.

for the money, I believe they are the best deal in a 1911... Will all of them shoot like these 2, probably not but these do... The guns are very tight... between 400-500 rounds through mine... not failures.

My Tisas has more than that without a failure to fire of any sort. They are smoking deals.

99% of Turkey's population is muslin. It may be a good firearm, but there is no way in hell I'll ever spend money on one.

The Russians who made all those cheap SKS rifles that came in during the 90s were Communists.

Point!

Kahrs from Moonies and BHP from Mormons. What other great reasons for hating a gun brand can we come up with? Colts and S&W made in a socialist anti-gun state?

Muslin? WTF are they....mummies?

Muslin (/ˈmʌzlɪn/), is a cotton fabric of plain weave. It is made in a wide range of weights from delicate sheers to coarse sheeting. It gets its name from the city of Mosul, Iraq which the Europeans believed to be its place of origin.
