75 more rounds through the Tisas yesterday. Run like a champ and accurate at 50 foot. Some old guys were were impressed and couldn't believe it was a sub $400 gun. Don't know if it's a common thing but it will chamber empty cases from the mag.

The prices seem to be in the $400+ category now. If you can find one.

LOL are you saying that they are bringing a premium? Look at any affordable sub 800 buck handgun and see if they are in stock. Sh*t I can’t even find a gun shop that has a SCCY of any type in stock.

$379.95 isn't quite the deal they were at $299.99 but that's still a very good price for a 1911 and especially given the unanimous reports on the excellent quality of their construction. And especially especially when everybody and their brother are trying to inflate the current price bubble surrounding all handguns these days. Looks like the next best price is $399.99 and most places are out of stock even at that price.

My LGS had a few of them in recently and put a price tag of over $500.00 on them. I guess they're hoping their customers won't realize you can get them for a good bit less online.

I finally shot mine ($299 gun) weekend before last and function was fine - no failures. Accuracy was decent from 15 yards, shooting 200 Gr SWC reloads at 800 fps. I only shot about 50 rounds, so no torture test.

I have had two Rock Islands, a officers and a standard GI clone. Both have been good, not the best but good.

Point!

Kahrs from Moonies and BHP from Mormons. What other great reasons for hating a gun brand can we come up with? Colts and S&W made in a socialist anti-gun state?

Yep.

Me too. Free shipping, even, as I recall. They were running one day special.

Ok, they're not great deal anymore. If you lucky and Trump wins soon you may be able to buy police trade-in Glock .40s for less. For kool $50-$75 more you may even find G21s. I recommend 9x19, but as you know everyone now wants Glocks in this caliber.

Last decent 1911 I got for under $300, was one l bought a long time ago. An old Argentine, one of my favorites. Just the frame and slide left but dang, it will shoot. $195 in select condition. Would not be opposed to one, but have not seen any lately under $500. .

I ordered one of those for about that price, back when that was a thing. Instead of sending me an Argentine Sistema, though, they actually sent me a 1927 made commercial Colt that had been roll marked Property of the Argentine Federal Police in Spanish. It had evidently been refinished since it left the factory. Shot well, but had hardly any rifling left in the barrel. All it's parts were identical to those found on the very first USGI 1911 A1s produced by Colt. These were called the Hartford Argentine 1911s, because they were actually made in Hartford Connecticut by Colt. Argentina originally ordered them from Colt, and only later started making their own Sistema version of it.
