Cool! The only downside I can see is removing more wood from a part of the stock that is already a bit thin.

There were 3 gunsmiths/shops doing this back in the day. H.B. Anderson in Yakima,WA. Ellwood Epps in Clinton, Ontario. Sports Equipment Co. in Lockport, NY.

I'm sure this safety thrived along with the multitude of other devices that were available during the golden era of post WWII DIY gun projects.
