Things would have to be worse than NYC with a defunded and dismantled police department for me to get rid of my 35 cal rifles! I am addicted, and like it that way, to the 35 calibers.I

It all started when I bought a Marlin 336 in 35Remington just because I wanted something different than a 30/30 and a belief that a 35 cal bullet would also create a greater wound. After that came a Remington 788 left hand rebored to 358. Then came a steel framed BLR-81, a single shot CVA 35 Whelen, CVA 35 Remington, a Remington 7600pump 35Whelen...

I guess you could say I'm addicted to the bore size. When I looked at my reloading components a few weeks ago I found I had 11 or 12 different weights, bullet shapes and manufacturers on hand.

My name is Travis, I have a .358 bore problem.

...............My guess is, that it is a marketing decision based on popularity. If you are gun manufacturer, then you are going to make rifles chambered in cartridges that sell the best. Not to diminish from the 358 Win at all, but it would not sell nearly as well as rounds like the Creed, 270, 308, '06, 300 Win, 338 Win and etc.....Nothing more than a marketing decision imo. And if that be the case in their view then I would agree with it.

A Ruger American is a fine economy rifle. Good job Ruger by helping all Americans afford a nice hunting rifle.

Hi. My name is Rusty and I am a medium bore whore, and I don't want to change. It started with a 7600 in 35 Whelen then went to 9.3x57, 9.3x62, 9.3x74, 358 Winchester times three, on up to 375...................................I sold the 7600 in 35 Whelen but don't try to pry my hands from my Savage 99 brush gun in 358 Win. I just can't seem to stop! AAAARRRRRRRRRGGGGGGGGGG! I'm better now. Be Well, Rustyzipper.

My addiction started with a 7600 carbine in 35 Remington. Then I had to have a full size 7600 in 35 Whelen. That led to a BLR in .358 Win and a little Ruger Ranch in .350 Legend.

Are the Ruger Americans in 358 Winchester still available? Be Well, Rustyzipper.

There were a few magazine feed issues with some of the rifles. Mine feeds all shapes well from the 180 grain Speer to the 250 grain Speer. better than my Savage 99.

I'd like to see a Ruger American in 35 Remington. I know it will never happen, but I'd still like one.

I’d sign up for that.

Maybe we could trick Ruger into building an RAR in 9x39mm? Should be a harder hitter than a 300 Mudout or blackout or whatever they call that flavor today. Should be better than the 30-30. Or better yet make the 35-30 a standard caliber. It has been around for close to 100 years. Just dreaming. Years ago I wanted a model of Ruger and they had quit making it. So I had to go on a hunt for my gun first, then the game I wanted to harvest. Be Well, Rustyzipper.

There's nothing better than the middle bores. 338 Federal, 338 RCM, 348 win, 358 win, 35 Whelan, 9.3x62, 38-55. These are excellent and even with old cup and core bullets than can work well with their moderate velocities and cast.

Just my opinion but I love taking out my 348 win and 348 Ackley. Excellent model 71 rifle and decent power level. Im pretty satisfied also with my little Ruger 338 RCM. New to me is an winchester 1894 in 38-55. Im anxious to try out this little 94

Let us know how your 38-55 works for you. I know it looks on paper to be a good killer. Be Well, Rustyzipper.

I have had a .35 Whelen since 2001 and love it for a hunting rifle. Has been to Africa twice as well as to Alberta for moose. I have not shot the .358 but I am sure it is dandy as well.

I was ‘giddy’ to hear of the Grice run of The Ruger Americans in .358 for only $399, and grabbed one the day I heard about them.
I really missed my Ruger 77R 358 that I let go in 1995 after enjoying it for a dozen years shooting it at the range and in the whitetail deer woods.
I’ve not read a single post about any 358 that would even begin to change my mind about owning one, and I’ve owned I guess well over 50 centerfire rifles, been hand loading since 1967.
As a long time fan of the 358 Winchester I’ve thought about what other rifle I would like to have. I think the Ruger 77 Mark II with a medium contour/weight 22” or even 24” match quality barrel would be fun to have. Ruger started to offer 77 Hawkeye 358 rifles with a heavier contour barrel for a while. I think it was the same heavier contour they produced for the 350 Rem Mag rifles, a smart move. I’ve never found a 358 77 Hawkeye or 77 Mark II in 358 Win but doubt I could pass one up. This little Grice 358 will stay with me either way.

My only 358 was an early Steel frame BLR. Cool gun and really light. It was a bit buckish with it's ironsight style stock but I put a scope on it and proceeded to make a bunch of hogs and deer head for the processor. I sold it because it still looked great and I wanted to build a bolt gun 358 but put together a light 35 Whelen instead. The Whelen loaded down a bit has been doing all the chores I would have used the Browning on perfectly. I would like to build a 358 on a Remington short action with a 20 inch barrel. Hmmmmmm

Rick, I got the blr and the rar, I was always gonna build a 700 358, til I got the rar. A 700 358 would be a dandy

I saw a Remington 700DBM that had been rebarreled to 358 at a gunshow several years ago

A long while back I had one put together on a M7 with a 21" barrel and Mt. Rifle edge filled stock. It's more lead than needed for what I do but for still hunting it's hard not to like it.
