Deer run away from this gun. All but me scored at camp last year. I went for beer and my buddy took my stand and shot a nice buck up in Cooperstown. All good I took their money playing poker. My pre 64 shot like this a 200 yds and I sold it like a dummy, but it was only a one time deal and never did it again. Just luck. This gun is consistent.

I picked up a 270 a few years ago that has exactly the opposite juju. Every time I pack it, I kill what I'm hunting. Crazy. It broke a four year drought on elk for me. It's a magnet. And shoots groups about half of that in your picture with several different bullets.

I figure it is Divine Recompense for a pos M77 I received for my 15th birthday that wouldn't shoot into 4" at 100 if my life was riding on the shots. I packed it hunting a few times, but was glad I never had to shoot it at anything.

I’ve always loved the New Haven Model 70’s. Great guns. I have a 338 WM that will shoot that good. It’s been on my most memorable hunts.

Solid rifles that get the job done with no fuss. I’ve been around a pile of New Haven .270 fwt’s and they all shoot amazing well.
IMR-4350 (55gr) and a good 130
Reloder 22 (58gr) and a good 130

Classic Featherweight, 60 gr H4831 with 130 Hornady SP CCI 250 Win. cases just under 3000 or RL 19 at 3145 or so. Can't find RL 26. Nice triggers and just a well made rifle.

I have a New Haven push feed 270 Winlite that shoots groups like that. It is one of my favorite rifles for obvious reasons.

I just picked up another Win Model 70, Stainless Steel Classic, 30-06, 5 digit serial number. Love those rifles. Hope it shoots as good as yours. It’s a low mileage rifle, so I’ll get it out soon and see how it does.

Went to the range to check some 150 Partitions w/H4831 and a Fiber Pro stock I inletted/epoxy bedded for piss and giggles. The stock takes alot of the sting out of this light rifle. Bad shoulder from years of magnums.
