i am following an auction for a 30.40kraig which has been sporterized. relative nice condition, butt pad is old and worn out but wood, metal, seem okay. i cant inspect the bolt lug for cracking tho.
the question is how much would one bid on something like this?
its at 230 bucks right now and a 15%premium on top o that.

i kind of am freezing up as i already have a number of kraigs.
including one which i was told was a bannerman conversion, in premo shape.
i paid 175bucks for that, but it had an original sling, cleaning kit, and brass muzzle protecter with it.
thoughts?

Krags can be a crap shoot as I have found out. I have a revceiver purchased several years back that has a hairline crack at the locking lug recess.
My other Krag rifle had excessive headspace and I had to get a NOS bolt to remedy that.
Flip a coin.

Krags are one rifle I won't buy without a thorough exam anymore.

Sight unseen I wouldn't go more than $300. Depends on how bad you want it.
