Anyone tried the Winchester 6.5 Creedmoor 129 grain Powerpoint for deer? LGS has them for $17.95 per box.

If that is a Hornaday bullet it is excellent. Winchester PP are usually good, for deer I wouldn't worry about it. Also at CM velocities a broad range of bullets will perform very well as they are not overly stressed. It would be worth buying just for the brass.

I bought 100 rounds because it was cheap, but it wasn't quite as accurate in the 5 rifles that I shot it in as the 125 grain Deer Season XP.

My local WM sells the Deer Season XP for less than $19.

Any rifle ammo less than a buck a round I will buy for the brass. I did the same thing with the CM, because Winchester doesn't sell component brass in CM, and I wanted to get some to try reloading. A lot of guys talk smack about Win brass, but I have had just as many problems with other brands as I've had with Winchester, and it usually has a bit more capacity.

I bought one box to try, The ammo counter at the LGS looked like the zombie Apocalypse has happened.

I have taken to many to count heavy bodied muley bucks over the years with the Sierra 120gr in my various 6.5's. Never a problem. A 129 gr is more than enough bullet for deer with a 6.5.

Man, I've had great results with Winchester brass. It's generally cheaper than Hornady and it shoots great. And I get a lot of mileage out of it.
