That is a couple of beautiful colts. Adjectives can’t describe them any better. What else do you have buried in that obviously large safe.

I don't do CAS any more, so they're not likely to get much additional wear. They were pretty classy in double Mernickle holsters. Was always proud to wear them. We were invited to an NRA meeting in Natchitoches, LA, told to go fully CAS outfitted and armed. We did get some looks... And some smiles... Good folks, gun friendly area... DF

Mmmm-mmm, those are gorgeous! I like that aged color to them
Ordered the grips yesterday and chose the aged option plus having a set of S&W medallions installed. Obviously won't have that grained look but the color should be close. Jim, please post some pics when the eagle lands.

Some of you guys are real fancy pants. My meager contribution. 29-2's and a Lew Horton .44 Special. All faux ivory from Eagle:

The top one looks like it has realistic ivory grain in the material. Is that a different sort of false ivory from the other two? Perhaps a more expensive variety?
All three look great with the faux ivory grips.

Wow! Looks like ivory could be replaced with bison bone for grips. Nice.

All three look great with the faux ivory grips. TRH, The ones on the 8 3/8" are the Kirinite variety. I don't think there's any big difference in price. I agree that they look better but the ones I have on the 4" and the Lew Horton were bought before Kirinite was available through Eagle so I've just left them.

You can soak the faux ivory grips in tea for a few days and it will "age" them to an appropriate color, if you desire. I haven't done it, but I had a friend who did, and they looked awfully good.
You can roll a turd in peanuts, dip it in chocolate, and it still ain't no damn Baby Ruth.

I"m going to look into the Kirinite at Eagle. Thanks.

Here's some stag on an N-Frame. Back when I ordered it, I didn't like a lot of rough on my stag, so ordered it with just a little. Today, I prefer the rougher looking stag grips.
