Contemplating a BBQ type gun and would like to see some visual confirmation of my imagination. Please, no cheap New Orleans whorehouse pearl handled ones... Gunnery, gunnery, gunnery. Reason for the thread is I'm getting a 1952 vintage 5 screw S&W K-38 refinished in a "Deluxe" blue. Yes, I know, rebluing hurts the collector value but this one would never be a collector item, it's a shooter which is why I got it for a good price. Lots of cosmetic issues but it is definitely a Good Shooter. It has the diamond service stocks but I like a larger grip and with the ridiculous prices folks are asking for even ratty looking original S&W target grips I figured if I have to spend some coin anyway then why not go ahead and splurge a bit on some nice ones. Obviously "nicer" these days still means imitation ivory but I wanted to get an idea of what that might look like. Found these faux ivory ones at a reasonable price and they can be aged as well. Gunnery, gunnery, gunnery. Hit the target, all else is twaddle!
