Just realized all the noise I am hearing is fireworks... you can sit on my deck and read a newspaper right now without artificial light, at midnight. No chance of the fireworks showing anything special. But just the same, Happy Fourth!!!!

Expecting fireworks on the Gerstle and Delta River beds tonight.
The amount of traffic headed South is astounding. I suspect Chitina
is crowded.

We were in Seward for 2010 and Anchorage in 2012. The mountain shadows in Seward made for a decent show.
2012 was low clouds and light rain. The higher bursts were tearing up the bottom of the clouds.
It seems to me a fair price to live where you do.

I went down to Mill Bay beach and watched the Filipinos try to blow themselves up. I knew there was no sleeping until after midnight. First time i have actually seen the mortar rounds blow up. Different perspective for sure
