Nine oat bales to haul today. The alfalfa is cut, but not dry yet. A family BBQ, and fireworks tonight.

Jake had a TON of trouble with that New Holland hay swather, he spent nearly $2000 cutting 30 acres. he hired the last 25 acres cut.

Wayne, do you store the haylege in an upright silo, or pit/bunker?

Doesn't take much to tow one. Doesn't take much more to pull one in the field. You might be able to pull one with a big four wheeler especially if it's in four wheel drive. Quite a few guys pull them with their pickups.

I am living next to my sis and Bro in laws farm. They lost their dairy farm a few years back, retained 12 acres and the bldgs. Farmer who owns the fields now is getting his 2nd crop cut. It is wild how these guys who farm grain and hold beef cows are not too concerned with the quality of hay. Oft times they leave the round bales stacked along the fields till they need them. I spose if one does not have a place to store them out of the weather you have no choice. Still seems like a waste of good hay though . I grew up working farms loading wagons in the field and unloading them in the hay mow. It kicked my ass as a lean 7th grader! I pray all you farmers get some decent weather when you need it!
