Probably won't even pass the Senate.

It plants the seed in the dull minds of average people that city and state leadership are indeed responsible for failing to contain these protests.

I like it, and whether it fails to pass or not, it's worth trying.

His first priority is Israel, not the USA. He's said it clearly from time to time.

I doubt one could be held accountable for the actions of others. I suggest we have legislation allowing us to protect/defend our property.

Some States do.

The usual socialism.

Pay taxpayer money to people fcked over because .gov screwed up.

Until the damages come from the .gov retirement fund, there is no accountability.

They can already be held accountable. Local tyrants are easy to find.

Yeah it's a token gesture but it's a hell of a lot better public statement than most of the PC tail between their legs excuses for representation we have. The only other person saying what we're thinking is Trump. Most of the others have rolled over on their backs with their paws sticking up.

Progressives are the most open minded, tolerant, and inclusive people on the planet, as long as you agree with everything they say, and do exactly as you're told.

It will never see the "light of day" as that starts the end of special immunity. His buds won't let that happen!!

It won’t, it takes 60 votes in the Senate to pass,

Ya but voters will be for it, and democrats will be forced to vote against the majority of voters.

it's not important that it passes.....just that those who vote against it are recognized for what they are.

Ted is grandstanding. He is a lawyer and knows a Mayor can't be held responsible if Leroy throws a brick through a window. The Mayor may be a lousy negligent mayor but Leroy threw the brick. No court is going to punish the mayor for what Leroy did. Or at least they shouldn't.

It has to be done in a way that they can't just pass it along to the city tax fund that pays insurance companies to deal with this. Only then would it be a motivating factor. Wouldn't be surprised if lots of them step down to avoid liability. Just my .02 cents.

Ted has come up with several virtuous ideas and throwing paper on the wall that he knows won't stick.

Slaves get what they need. Free men get what they want.

Rehabilitation is way overrated.

give it time.. if it ain't going to pass now.. or this time, the way the liberal left is going,
just wait... they'll keep on doing this crap and trying to get away with more...

the public will finally get tired of this communist disruption attempt...

we conservatives need to take a page out of the liberal left's play book... never ever give up even if it takes 50 years...they know the cost of success... conservatives try once... fail and then whine, "what can we do??"

Even if it passed it would be struck l down as ex post facto for the stiff that happened to this point. Cruz was am appellate lawyer and knows that. He's just pandering
