Hi folks. My buddy just ordered a Bergara Premier barreled action and wants to drop it in a chassis. It's a 700 print, but when he called Bergara they told him it would only take a 700 trigger that did not have a bolt release. I can't for the life of me understand this. Can someone more well versed on this tell my why that would be the case? Thank you.

Bergara has a different bolt release, a lever on the side of the action, not the M-700 set up.

So if he buys a non bolt release 700 trigger, it should mesh up with the bergara action release?

Yes, the triggers are indentical aside from the bolt stop. I have a Bergara B-14 Hunter and I replaced the Bergara trigger with a Trigger Tech. Doesn't the new Bergara barreled action come with a trigger? I have my original Bergara trigger if he's interested.

Apparently the Premier series doesn't. This is what he bought. https://www.brownells.com/rifle-par...eedmoor-barreled-actions-prod130761.aspx

You can buy many triggers without a bolt release or if you want to use a trigger he already has just remove the bolt release from the trigger and install it.

Don't think they "mesh". Bergara bolt stop is independent of the trigger mechanism unlike the 700.
