Bob, I really hate to ask, but I thought that was Sherman?? With the blessing of all that is. Or, the Southner's themselves, not wanting leave anything of value to the Yankees?
As to the flag, I'll say go for it Big Jim. Grant was traveling in Sherman’s Corps I believe but it was during the Vicksburg campaign. He burned a portion of the town and cut/destroyed the railroad line back west to Vicksburg. Ha! Just remembered it was the 2nd Texas Infantry regt that manned the “Railroad Redoubt” back at Vicksburg! Or what was left of em. I believe the 3rd Louisiana Inf. manned a redan on the other side of the tracks.

We could wake up tomorrow with a new flag flying.
Nothing will change.
A new flag won’t make folks finish school, not get knocked up or go to work.

So, should the state of Minnesota be kicked out of the US? That racists' river starts in Minnesota.

Arthur Fremantle barely escaped capture by Union forces at Jackson.
If you have never read his book I recommend it. He had quite the adventure coming up out of Mexico! I loaned out my copy about 25 years ago. Never to be seen again. Its ok. I hope dozens of others got to enjoy it!.

That is the part that Negroes don’t understand, don’t care about, or even give a chit about. They are never going to change who and what they are. Never!!

As to the flag, I'll say go for it Big Jim. No, it was Grant and the Army of Tennessee. Sherman had his sights on Savannah but was given the key to the city to keep it from being burned.. Cowards! g
