It didn't help Georgia's people much to change the flag. Our old flag had what people think of as the Confederate battle flag as a big section of the flag. That didn't sit too well with some people. To make them happy Georgia changed its Flag to the first national flag of the Confederacy with the addition of the state seal inside the circle of 13 stars. I never have been able to figure out that logic...but they changed the flag and everybody was happy.

Didn’t know we don’t have an official flag..... Do y'all have an official bird? Reptile? Flower?

We could wake up tomorrow with a new flag flying.
Nothing will change.
A new flag won’t make folks finish school, not get knocked up or go to work.
That is the part that Negroes don’t understand, don’t care about, or even give a chit about. They are never going to change who and what they are. Never!! And what are they exactly? Just so we know where you stand.

I would say it's only been in the last twenty years and in some areas way less, that a lot of rural Mississippi left the Democratic party. The driving force behind that shift was the belief that the Republicans would have their side against the liberal agenda being pushed by the national Democratic party. Turns out the only difference between them and the Democrats is the Democrats are honest about who's side they're on.

Turns out the only difference between them and the Democrats is the Democrats are honest about who's side they're on. I think it's pretty much that way all across the southern tier of states. The South always was very socially conservative, and the thought was that it was the GOP who represented those values more than the modern Democrat Party. But, the thing is, the GOP is running scared of the Negroes, the queers, and the thought that they might be called White Supremacy supporters.

The new flag is supposed to have "In God We Trust" written on it. That will be under atrack in less than a year from it being voted in.
