Anyone have one mounted up? Here's a link to the ARB awning I'm considering. ARB Awning

Are there other brands to consider?

When I had a truck with a rack it was a simple and easy thing to tie on a tarp and prop it up with a couple of fiberglass poles.

What’s the advantage of this over a simple tarp? I don’t see any benefit. If you have a car without a rack then put a rack on it.

This zips into it's own cocoon and rides on the side of your rack. Deploys very quickly. Stows just as quickly.

And doesn't take up room either in your interior cargo space or on your rack.

My wife has one for her 4runner, made by Overland Vehicle Systems.

It covers the driver's side and rear and is nice because it has no poles for anyone to bump unless it needs to be raised up higher than the roof. Not convinced it is all that useful but she and the boys like to use it for getting out of the sun when we spend the day out.

Porch roller shade with a nice little housing..
Friend had one tho I never saw it used.
Never have to put a wet tarp inside. I guess.
Compare to RV versions?

Thanks for the links and leads.

The ARB is completely out of stock with any reputable seller I've found.

I raccoon I'll order the iron man in the morning.
