Like when Michael Mcdonald join the Dobbie Brothers. Just not the same feel/sound..different band. 'I think he already did that to Pure Prairie League...maybe he wants to outdo the McDonald.

Watched it. Seemed a little sad, the voices declining and the insistence of playing every song just like the record. One of the great things about a good concert is letting the musicians take off and solo. Walsh, Smith and Gill would be great at it. Reference Clapton's Crossroads Concerts. Old Don Henley probably wouldnt go for it, too uptight and controlling. Watching the players made it seem more like a funeral wake instead of a celebration.
Don't get me wrong, been a fan since the first album. Saw them live in '75. Think their 1994 DVD Hell Freezes Over is outstanding, especially the guitar work and interaction between Felder and Walsh.
but hey, we all get old and we ain't what we used to be. Gotta give them credit for getting out there and doing it.
Old guy, old guns.

Saw them a few years back before Frey died. Have watched many documentaries and interviews and come to the conclusion that Frey pretty much killed the band on his own. The night we saw them in Wichita, all Frey could do was yell at the crowd because he was pissed some of them were on their phones. Just came across as an angry, bitter old f u ck. A few months later he was dead.
Saw Felder with a band he'd put together. The Eagles were much better with Felder than without him. It's a shame that the newest incarnation has phaggots like Vince Gill instead of Felder. Felder did Hotel California which he claimed he was supposed to have sung originally. He did a good job. I don't know if it was as good as Henley or not.

I think that the Eagles still holds the fastest ticket sell out record that happened on their first stop of their Hell Freezes Over tour. Less than 14 minutes of when the tickets went on sale.

I watched the Eagles documentary and enjoyed it. I have also watched a few interviews with Don Felder explaining his side of the story. He comes across as a genuinely good guy. I believe him, and he won his lawsuit against Frey and Henley.
I loved the Eagles, but as someone said above, they (probably Don Henley) can't give it up. I don't even want to hear them attempting to be something they no longer can be.
On the other hand, Don Felder does charity benefit concerts, often with musicians who played in other bands. He looks great, and seems to be enjoying himself.

Was flipping channels a while back and a episode of Austin City Limits featured Henley and with many guests singers accompanying him. It was a good show.

Over dubbed, computer controlled auto tuned vocals. Still some of the best musicians ever to walk this planet.

Eagles made a mistake adding that whiney voiced Vince Gill. Other than that, they've gotta be considered one of the best bands ever. Don Felder and Glenn Frey were great guitarists. Joe Walsh has his own style.
