Same problem as always nowhere has both these scopes to so I can compare. Looking at the 5-20 trijicon and the 5-25 NF. I will be using this on a .284 that is being built for long range hunting for main purpose. Two things that mean the most to me. Light gathering and dialing repeatability. Anybody own both or had a chance to play with both your opinion would greatly help

As for comparing them, I like my NIghtforce SHV's far better than the Trijicon I used to have. No comparison...
I try to stick with the basics, they do so well. Nothing fancy mind you, just plain jane will get it done with style. You want to see an animal drop right now? Shoot him in the ear hole. BSA MAGA

No more Trijicons for me ever. NF is clueless in the reticle department if you are looking at light gathering and illumination, otherwise super solid scope.

Why no more Trijicon?
I’ve been toying the ideas of a 3-9x40 accupoint for a deer rifle.

I do not like the view thru the eyepiece and the anodized finish is hardly military grade. One of the worse finishes on a scope that I have owned.

I have a couple of NF SHV, 5-20 and 3-10. I like both. No experience with Trijicon. However, for the money, my last 2 scopes have been Zeiss. The V4 and V6 are good scopes, and you can find them used for a good price.

I have more than several NF optics and one Trijicon. No comparison as others have said. NF is the way to go. The only one that has better glass than NF imo is Swarovski. The reticle adjustments are repeatable and reliable, the glass is amazing, only drawback is the weight, but that typically doesn't matter bench, long range rifles. If weight is the main factor, I'd opt for a Swarovski Z5 or Z6.

While the optics are amazing, the turrets are not repeatable enough for dialing. If you are planning on repeatable adjustments, these are not what you are looking for in my experience.. They do make outstanding set and forget scopes. Just my .02.
