Alright, the question had to be asked. Where are you guys hiding them? I'm down to 6,000 or so but I know I'll need some here in the near future. Where's the best place to get them? Thanks..

Another reason to go with an AR-10 black gun.

Good point! I like your thinking.

I found 2k CCI 41s, that's it, for two days of scouring the net. Said the heck with it tonight and bought a mess of LRs as it looks like they're going extinct. Selfish and unhelpful to my fellow reloaders, but, damn it, I'll have some.

BSA,

They are all in loaded 5.56 Ammo.

After Corona hit, powder dried up for a short bit, then small pistol and small rifle primers just went away.....

Ive diverged from sporting goods/outdoor outlets for primers.

Around here, the "also rans" like Fleet Farm that sell reloading components have stuff in stock whereas the usual suspects have been pilfered and then some.

Gee I just gave away like 30,000, and another 20,000 Large Rifles...

Since I am going to vote for Biden, I sold all my firearms, and donated the proceeds to Everytown for Gun Safety..
Micheal Gloomberg's Groups and the rest was split between Biden's campaign, Support for Antifa and finally BLM...

and I joined the democRATic Party...

Well, my supply is not depleted, I just don't like dropping below 5,000 of each kind. I know some of you guys here can relate...

Not sure what the primer problem is.

Every week or so I see a guy who runs a primer production line for Federal in Anoka, Minn. Previously he told me that in a shift with good production his line can make as many as 700,000 primers.

Today i asked him [re this thread ] if Federal had downsized their production of primers............

He laughed and told me that Federal hasnt slowed down a bit. In fact, he said, primer production was about a month behind.
Told me that apparently the COVID thing and these demonstrations/riots had speeded up reloading AND primer purchases.
He sounded sincere.

That makes sense. I know there are tons of people buying firearms. I bought a rifle a couple weeks ago and i started out at 4000 on the list for background checks. It ended up taking 6 days before the background check cleared. People are panicking again, so they are buying more than they need and stickpiling it.

well like BSA says.... 4000th on the Back Ground check list...

any time I've bought a firearm here... in the past, I've gone thru the background check INSTANTLY...

Go into Sportsman's Warehouse for instance and a lot of the Shelves look like the day after Christmas
at least in the firearms dept...bullets, primers, powders, scopes, rifles at times...

I pick up primers when I might go into BiMart for something else...

just opened up a brick of CCI primers, the price on the box was $15.00.. guess I've had those for a while...
