I recently sold one that was NIB for $650. Prices vary on the part of the country sold in. They can be very accurate, depends on the individual rifle and ammo used.

I had two - sold one.. The one I still have has outstanding accuracy when fed Eley match ammo.. Worth? All depends on condition.. Mine is 98% or better, and I wouldn't sell it for anything under $600...

And (really strange for Remington) the trigger is awesome.. I haven't tested it for weight recently, but IIRC I have it set at about 6 oz...

I have the 541THB (the heavy barrel variant). I'm not up on their worth but they are a decent .22, no longer made. Some have the bad habit of throwing the first couple shots out of a cold barrel. Mine does. Subsequent shots group pretty well, so it's useful as a range gun where I just dump the first couple shots off the target. What really bugs me about the 541s are the cheap plastic magazines, but I came across a guy who made metal mags for it and bought 2. Those plastic mags are an abomination.

Mine is very accurate with SK Rifle Match, CCI SV, Wolf Match, assorted Geco, RWS subsonic HP's, etc..........................Really a very nice rifle. Would not sell mine for $600 but that's probably what it's worth. Agree with the plastic mag comments but............

I use mine to practice shooting off-hand since with scope weighs about same as my centerfire rifles, swinging 3 x 5 at 100 yards not a problem, with old silver box Winchester high speed, 600.00 would be a good deal of course every rifle is different. (that's a good thing in a way)

I bought a 98% one last summer for $400. It shoots the Aguila Pistol Match very well and does just fine with most anything else I have tried. I do need to adjust the trigger though. The mag is junk but I found a firm that makes really nice ones that sit about flush with the stock too.

Thanks for all the responses so far. The one I looked at was 700.00 I think I will pass on it for now. I don’t need it and some dealers are using the covid 19 as a excuse to not negotiate.

The one from Trekker is rock solid. The material reminds of a P-Mag.

They look substantial indeed and I have no doubt that they are much better than that flimsy, cheap and unreliable magazine that Remington included but - - - the stainless steel mags with a blued steel floorplate that John Reed made were not only functional but beautiful as befits a nice wood/steel rifle. I'm not sure if Mr. Reed is still making his magazines, if not, owners of Rem 540/580 series should get the Trekker as they will be better than what they now have by a mile.

Limabean: I have a "pair" of Remington 541-T's (both heavy barrels!) and the accuracy (with Varmint type ammunition mind you!) is EXCELLENT!
I like, no I LOVE, everything about these two Remington 541-T's with the lone exception of the chincy magazines (clips!)!
They work well for me in my two Rifles - they just seem "chincy" and unbecoming such an otherwise all around excellent rimfire Rifle.
My Remington 541-T with Weaver KT 15 (straight 15 power) scope on it is just dead nuts accurate with Winchester 40 grain Power-Point hollow-points.
My other 541-T has a Leupold 3x9 scope and when the right scope comes along I am going to swap it out as this Rifle shows real accuracy and that could/would be enhanced by more scope power.
I wish I could be of some help on the pricing side of your inquiry but I so seldom see them come up for sale (people that own them LOVE them!) that I am out of the loop on current values.
I do know if I ever see another real clean Remington 541-T for sale I would be a "playah" for it!
These are fine little Rifles with a virtual universal reputation for excellent accuracy and in my experience seldom come up for sale.
Best of luck to you if you decide to go for one!

One thing to be aware of on the 541T is not all of them have a 3 screw fully adjustable trigger, be sure to check for that. I also seem to remember that not all of them had two action screws but I am not sure of that but if you take a look at the trigger the number of action screws will be evident anyway.

223 Rem, my favorite cartridge - you can't argue with truckloads of dead PD's and gophers.

Jimy: How much do you want for the "safe queen" Model 541-T?
I have never used serial numbers to date the manufacture of any of my Remington firearms.
I use the "barrel date codes" on the barrels.
An online search will quickly find a date of manufacture code cypher for your Model 541-T.
I have the code in my "favorite places" and a hard copy of same that I take to gunshows and gunshops for info.
