When are the B1 Plus line supposed to be released? Can't find much on them.

With the delays everywhere due to Covid I'd say after hunting season starts. Maybe October/November

Thanks for the heads up JG, Meopta is one of my Go to’s these days.

The B1Plus is a totally new design and upgrade as well as going to run about 30% more than the current Meostar line

I bought one of the Artimes 1.5-6x40mm w/German #1 that Doug had last fall, while heavy it is a great scope for calling coyotes, wish they hadn't gone away.

I’m not familiar with the B1 line. How do they fit in with the meopro/optika/meostar lines?

It is a Meostar. The B1.1 has a tweaked focus/diopter mechanism and it's a Meostar too.

I’d like to get my hands on the 10x50hd. I hope they are going the extra mile with the B1 Plus. A 30% price increase at a time that the SLCs price decreased is going to be a matchup.

I like those 12x50’s

I'm really wanting to try those Meopro Air's with Meostar HD glass. I've been on the search for a really good 8x42 for a while now, and don't want Chinese stuff, and don't want high $$$ Swaros.

JG, you have any experience with the Leupy BX-5 binos?

Doug, do you know if the edge clarity is addressed on the 12X plus?

Keep in mind my eyeballs are 59 yrs old, but i couldn't see much difference in the BX4 and BX5 in 10x42's. My Louisiana buddy has each one. They are both very nice though but to me I'm not sure they're worth the extra $$$. Just my opinion.

My Mom used to say "Believe 1/3 of what you hear and 3/4 of what you see".

I've only heard what I'be been told by folks at Meopta so I'll believe 1/3 of that and take a wait to see position. I would like to think at a substantial price increase they will be a great improvement on what i already feel is a super optic

Their 8x32's 'Stars are a pretty dang good bin. So small and light but big performance.

The Meostar seemingly got its chops as the "right there with Swarovski SLC for less money" brand. It'll be interesting to see how narrowing the price gap with the SLC if there is a "well, if I'm spending XXX, I'm just going with the Swarovski" buying rationale.

They make them for others so they will not have them here in the USA as it's part of their agreement with the companies they make them for.

Truth.... Great light weights with very good glass. I ended up letting mine go only because I like the 7x42 Meostar's so well I just never used the 8x32's. If the 7x42's were magically a 1/2 lb lighter they would be perfection for my hunting.

Leupold already discontinued their Meopta made bino/rf IIRC. Leupy is getting more clueless every day it seems. They didn't even market it when they had 'em.

Agree, JG. If you look up their bino/rangefinder it is hard to find info and I never saw anything promoting them. For what they cost and the quality, I think they had a niche all their own.

JG, it is good you are mentioning the Meopta Meostars, my experience is with the 12x50 HD and now the 15x56 HD.

These sizes are special because not many others sell quality optics in these larger sizes. Bigger is harder to do well.

The only ones that may be a touch better are those from Swarovski.

Farmfag1 really gets after it... that being said meopta is the shiit, 8x32’s are simply amazing

That is my only complaint about my MeoStar HD 15x56s that I bought off Doug a while back. Absolutely superb bino but would be even better if the edges were clearer. It's a relatively minor drawback though, in relation to their reliability.

I notice it in the 12’s more than I do the15’s.

And i agree the 8x32 is awesome. I have the Euro HD. Picked em up on closeout a cpl yrs back. I like em so well i ended up selling my 10x42 meostar. I like the compact design and lighter weight.

I just got back from the rifle range where I shot a Winchester M70 scoped with a Zeiss V6 3-18x50; next to a Kimber Montana scoped with a Meopta Meopro 4.5-14x44; next to a Kimber Montana scoped with a Zwarovski Z5 3.5-18x44. This was in perfectly clear and bright sunlight on paper targets.

I understand this is a very limited optical test. That begin said, in order of optical quality, I would rank the Meopta and the Swarovksi equal. With the Zeiss V6 in 3rd. In other words, the Meopta Meopro is a gol-dang fine optic for the money.

The image through all the scopes was extremely bright and contrasty and sharp. The Zeiss was bumped into 3rd place because it added a slight green halo around the orange shooting dots I used for aim points. Not saying that my shooting at the range today compares to late evening hunting in the woods. Just saying, again, that the Meopta Meopro is an outstanding bargain.
