I have the opportunity to acquire an almost new HW95 Luxus in .22 cal. from a co-worker.
I haven't dabbled with air rifles since the mid 1970's when I had a Sheridan "Blue Streak" 5mm/.20 cal. so I am entering uncharted waters with the HW95.
I will be using it for local vermin and punching paper in the back yard.
Any experience you may have with the HW95 that you'd care to share is greatly appreciated.
Thanks

If nothing else do a interweb search for HW-95 using your we browser.
Might want to look on youtube also.

I'm thinking AEAC and Giles ? both reviewed the 95.

Also check what some of the shops are charging for new ones.

StarchedCover, I've been shooting an HW95 in 22 cal for about 3 years now and couldn't be happier with it. It is my first high end air rifle so I did a lot of research before buying it and everybody seems to give it rave reviews. Mine has been very accurate and reliable. I've actually shot it a lot and have not had any issues. The trigger is excellent.

It is considered to be one of the best spring piston guns on the market. For the purposes you plan on using it for it should be perfect. My advice would be to buy it.

I'd jump on that if I had the chance.

Searching the internet and a few different forums led me to a wealth of information on the HW95 Luxus in 22 cal.; it sounds like it is a first rate air rifle.
Have you every heard the "expression you snooze you lose" ? While I was doing my research the seller got full asking price of $400.00 for the rifle, Sportsmatch Rings, 8 tins of various pellets.
Having viewed the original receipt, I went to Air Guns of AZ and found the rifle new for $419.98 (granted it's out of stock and should ship in three weeks).
While I missed out on one the slightly used one I'll just wait for mine to come in.

I do believe that is the parent of the Beeman R9. I have an R9 and love it.

Starched Cover go for it. You will never look back. Except to wonder why didn't I do this before. And I hope you still have the .20. They have their good points too. Nostalgia being only one of them. Be Well, Rustyzipper.

Just a quick update.
The HW95 is certainly exceeding my expectations. High quality airifle, pretty respectable wood on it and I love the trigger. Not sure why I waited so long to pick up air rifles again ?
While I did purchase SportsMatch rings I have yet to scope it. Once I had adjusted the rear sight and dialed it in at 15 yards with JSB Match "Diabolo" 14.35 grain pellets I'm very pleased with the results. The local vermin are starting to notice the HW95, so far several starlings and three ground squirrels .
The rifle is a bit louder than I though it would be (just an observation not a compliant).
It is a joy to shoot and I find myself practicing my offhand after work; nice way to relax and enjoy the late summer weather (when not ducking the rain).
I guess I'll need to look for pellet trap so I can continue this indoors when winter comes to the high country.

I must recommend Airguns of Arizona (AOA), great service, they patiently answered all of my questions. I will definitely be shopping there again .
