My SIL is manager of a southeastern fast food restaurant. He said they are having a change shortage. He said even the banks do not have change sometimes. What do you guys think it is?

Someone suggested they are pushing a cashless society. Someone else said Trump wants to go back on the gold standard.

I don'y carry change. Any change I get goes in a jar and only gets cashed in every few years.
Maybe I should help out the cause and take my jar down to the Credit Union.

Almost every store in this area has a sign up saying credit card or exact change only. No coin change will be given. The self service stations at Wal-Mart have signs saying credit cards only due to coin shortage.

They are pushing us to a cashless society. Things are moving quickly now to the New World Order.

Unattributed quotes are a no-no.

The mods are watching.

That is impossible without a catastrophic social disruption and an unbelievably huge increase in the price of gold. I'm all for it. Actually William Jennings Bryan's idea of bimetallism was a good idea. A group of metals such platinum and palladium etc. trading at a fixed ratio could be done. But alas, the central banks will kill any such move.

It does seem odd. Are coins being taken out of circulation? Does the US mint regularly produce coins and introduce them into circulation without removing old coins?

Personally, I rarely use cash anymore and don't find a lack of coins to be an issue, it just wonder where they are really going.

I have not made a personal transaction since the pandemic started. My wife goes shopping in mask, gloves, gown, ect and puts the groceries in quarantine.

I do not believe Covid 19 is different from any other cold or flu year, so she isolates me.

I know for a fact that slumlord is not telling the truth about the change.

He was quoted once in a redneck looking joint as saying "I ain't even got a garage, you can call home and ask my wife!"

BS...I know for a fact Slum has a 1972 GE box freezer and a two twin mattresses with a blue tarp stretched across both that he calls a garage.
