I had a 17hmr years ago, and tried to like it. Never could. I used it on red fox with less than spectacular results. It works for some I suppose, but I’m not interested in owning another any time soon.

I love my .17 hmr, but it is mostly a gopher gun.. Outstanding for that application!!

I couldn't agree more. If ever there was a perfect match between cartridge and species the 17HMR is it.

Could you do post that outlines that rifle combo? You told me what brand it was but I'd be interested to know what scope, bipod, what load your shooting out of it, maybe even what inspired you to go the route you did.
