Waking up is easy when you’re about to vomit every morning at 5am.

A little stage four renal failure will perk you up. Shake of the chills and dry heaves and you’ll be ready to frame some rafters or lay a couple hunnert concrete blocks. 😀👍

Hawaiin punch and a cinnamon roll!!

Doesn't seem to make much difference either way.

First thing I do when I wake up is wash my face, brush my teeth, then make a beeline for the coffeemaker. Don’t even think about anything else till I have at least two cups of black coffee down my gullet.

I get the coffee going first and do the rest while it's brewing.

Never tasted it in my life. The thing I look forward to in retirement is getting up when I feel like it

I had to quit drinking coffee for several months after getting my prostate out. Simply put it was making me pee way to much and that was interfering with getting my work done. Like it or not, most folks are addicted to to coffee to some degree. I didn't believe that until I quit and then started with the headaches every day for about two weeks. Once I got clear of that I was fine and didn't drink it for about 6 months or so.

5 years later, my health is fine (thank God) and I drinking a couple 3 cups every morning and maybe another after supper.

Always keep a NOS energy drink in the fridge for those rare times we’re out of coffee. Slam it and good to go. Nothing sucks worse than driving to the store for coffee early morning while you’re half asleep.

................I converted over to de-caff several years ago. In my case and since being off caffeine my sinuses have been much clearer in the morning. Had a few headaches during the transition.

Weird thing about coffee for me is that in all honesty, I’ve never really noticed the effect on my alertness the way everyone describes it. If I don’t have any for whatever reason, I just go about my day like any other. I drink it because I enjoy it not because I have to.

Stopped all caffeine a few years ago. Had about two weeks of withdrawals. Felt like crap, the entire time. Body aches, headaches, loss of energy, etc. Thought I was sick.

I can't drink the stuff. Gives me wicked heartburn/acid reflux. Despite that I managed to get up at 4:30 am M-F and go to work for years.
