You must have got a good one. All the ones I've read accuracy tests on, weren't anywhere near accurate enough for 25 yard rabbit shots.

I am reading 3-4 inches at 25 yards from LCP 22s, with a variety of ammo. With a good 25 yard zero and careful hold, that would get you a rabbit more often than not. I've got an 1860 Army repro that groups a tad better and prints 3" above the home-made blade front sight at 20 paces. I went 5 straight on garden marauders with it a couple of years ago, using a 454 ball and holding 6 o'clock.

I have found that CCI Standard Vel is the best in my gun by a wide margin. It can do 1” groups at 10y and I can hit a 14.5” square steel plate at 100y about 1/4 of the time standing.

Let me be emphatic:

THE RUGER LCP 22 IS AWESOME WITH CCI STANDARD VELOCITY AMMO.

Almost also as accurate were Wolf Match Target and CCI 22 Short HP (fed singly).

All other ammo I have tried seem to only be able to do 2” at 10y so I understand how other folks would not find their particular specimens accurate.

The trigger is quite remarkable after I learned how to stroke it to best achieve the acceptable results.

Cool, thread!

I'll be following this thread, as I want to buy a couple of 22lr this year. Have been without a 22lr handgun for years. Bought Ruger SR22 and Ruger 10/22 but have not had a chance to shoot either yet. But I already want to buy a M&P22 and Ruger 22/45 lite, the wife likes the purple 22/45 lite. Still figuring out the gun laws here in Maryland and trying to find sportman club near me. But wife likes shooting 22lr so I'm gravitating towards that arena, plus I don't have to reload for it.

I have a 22/45 Lite that I really like. I did have to put in some aftermarket parts in it to run the way I like. It shoots great though and is hell on grouse and hares.

That’s not uncommon in the rest for it to shoot slightMy off from were it would freehand. I’ve had a few handguns shoot off somewhat while others shot to the same POI as freehand. It’ll take a greater mind than mine to figure out the why of that.

i have and really like a 3.5” ruger sr22. to me it is the goldilocks of 22lr semiauto pistols: light, reliable, handy, easy. that said, and i’ve never held let alone shot one, i wonder if the longer 4.5” sr22 wouldn’t be ideal for a 22lr survival pistol, assuming that the extra 1” barrel adds more accuracy?

I'm thinking of dumping my CZ455 and getting a Browning 5.5" Contour pistol.

Do a trigger spring flip, and it will shoot better than you can hold it wink

Has anyone shot the Taurus 942? They have a 3 inch revolver that seems like it might make a good .22 plinking gun

Sig Trailside.

Hafta get a used one, but that's no problem for a .22.

Came new with a test target, 5 shot group at 25 yards inside one inch.

4.5" barrel, 29 oz. empty.

Smith model 43 is light, accurate and has worked for me for a lot of years.

I let one of those go some years back.

Guy was asking $425.

I kick myself.

Mine was in a Cabelas, unbelievably.

$450.

Told the clerk ta wrap it up.

He looked in the computer and told me it was already on layaway.

But the layaway had expired.

So, did I want it? And did I want the layaway applied to the price?

Yes, and no. Give the guy his money back.

Cabelas guy said they weren't going to give any money back, so take the deal.

Ended up bein $250.

Don't know if that was good karma or bad, but so far, so good.

No, but I agree.....had a little time with a similar High Standard, shot better than I could hold it.......

Sig Trailside's were good guns from all reviews, handled a few, they seemed well made.
