What type and grit sandpaper should I use to finish a Decelerator recoil pad? I will be block sanding.

I've used 240 grit wet or dry paper to finish Decelerator backed up with a sanding block.

After that I use a light oil like RemOil on the paper to “melt” the rubber which gets rid of the light tears in the pad. 600 grit seems to do well.

I freeze them before I give them the final sanding with 220 on painted stocks or 400 on wood stocks with a gloss finish.
Politicians and Diapers both need to be changed often, and for the same reason!
