When/where I went to high achool, teachers were more than willing to share opinions and debate. They didn't preach and certainly didn't attempt to hold us in contempt for our views. That attitude has become less and less 'standard' with each passing year. I taught The Boy that it's nothing but a life lesson: he will have coworkers and bosses that are shamelessly liberal, and you have to learn how to phouck with them and keep it within bounds. He's taken to it rather well, given what he (and some of his peers) have told me. I tell them they can have any opinion they want, just be able to defend it with logic. Needless to say the Conservative-leaning ones are far more articulate when it comes down to that. When they ask me how I voted I tell them I ain’t gonna say, they have to make up their own minds.

My daughter asked me about the gov rumors of people being disappeared in Seattle I think it was by unmarked feds
lol
I told her like North Korean type chit, lol
We laughed It aint even close to that. The media did attempt a spin in that direction, but it is widely known now that DHS is the agency involved, and the "undisclosed" location is the Fed courthouse a few blocks away. Ah shucks I was hoping ANTIFA were getting swooped up, popped and dumped

Hey aside from all this political talk.
You or anyone your know ever found Megaladon shark teeth along the Pee Dee river????? Worked in civil engineering Inspection, and have seen a few come up when guys were drilling wells for municipal water towers. Plenty of "regular" shark teeth as well. One of my friends found about a dozen in a creek bed on the edge of town when we were kids, they are now in the local university's collection. Edit to add: had one old well driller from Florida show me pics of his Megalodon collection, found from Florida to NC, and it was pretty impressive. I used to find Megs when I lived in Savannah, in the road cuts and borrow fill Got some around here somewhere, in one of them boxes’ Grins!!!

Slumlord,
That's awesome. I've got some sort of "fossilized plant" I've found along the river, a few bits of potery, and some halfass arrowheads as well. I'll try to dig them out. One of my great uncles farmed a 100 or so acre plot along the "little" river, and had the most impressive arrowhead/pottery collection I've seen to this day. Dont know what became of it, he passed when I was a boy, and his son, my "cousin" Mr. Norman, (sr-71 pilot, 50 or so years my senior) a few years back.

My son is certainly more conservative that most people he knows (he lives on the West Coast) but he says we’re making a mistake not backing Antifa because we have a common enemy - corrupt gov’t.
I told him that might be true, but I’ll never turn my back on a commie because I’ll get a knife in it. ANTIFA members oppose libertarian views and in fact they despise free will and embrace mob mentality. They all hate work ethic, individuality, free speech, capitalism, success, the constitution, are very racist in their views etc. They are pure anarchists in that want to destroy everything with no will or plan desire to rebuild. They're violent crazy, lazy, spoiled, narcicists, immature children that make a mess and move on to their next target. Almost all have daddy issues.

To say teachers don't have an impact on young minds is ludicrous. When libtard shidteating America hating teachers insinuate their evil into their lesson plans it's like hiding onions in the spaghetti sauce. Little at a time...... And for anyone to say they don't, well ignorance is bliss. My own approach to my kids has been to present both sides and let them pick. I didn't wan them to leave the house regurgitating what I told them. It was crucial they came to the point of enlightenment on their own. So far so good in most respects.

Four years of college turned our daughter against anything decent. I no longer recommend college. It’s four years of the worst propaganda imaginable. I just spit out a conservative mechanical engineer from Texas A&M. What was she studying?

Somebody is going to influence kids. Somebody influenced...YOU! Got your mind to thinking the way you do. (Don't like that, do ya?) Been pointing things out since my oldest was in kindergarten during the 2008 primaries. Eating supper, Mom and I talking politics, she said "I want the girl to win". I said "Jenna, do you know what she believes? She believes that if a woman has a baby she doesn't want..." "You mean like the one in Mommies belly". "Yep" A few minutes later, my 5 year old said, "Dad, couldn't they just give thems babies to someone that wants them?" Wow! She went on to have that discussion with her Pro-Hitlery teacher! (Damn right I'm bragging) No, neither her nor her 13 year old sister surprise me.

All mostly coastal Florida stuff. Bingo. If you're looking from Sarasota down through Venice, and on down to Fort Myers area, It's hard not to find them.

I am both validated/proud & disappointed with some the political & cultural views of my kids (31 & 25). I am very happy and gratified that both are staunch supporters of the 2nd Amendment...that wasn't easy for them experiencing the K-12 screwling they received along with attending a very liberal University. Both earned Bachelor's degrees. Along the way they developed some decidedly liberal cultural views that mystify me. Those views are an order of magnitude different than mine or my wife's. I chalk it up to the constant indoctrination by the K-12 & higher education teachers/professors. Additionally, but just as critical, is the never to be underestimated socialization that affects everyone lucky enough to live through puberty and adolescence. My wife and I led mainly by example, but also incorporated discussions when interest was expressed in some facet of life.

I was when they were in high school.
Once they got to college/tech school, they all realized Dad was right after all.

At 50, I still have those moments.
Things Dad said, that were just wrong. But now..Hmmmm!
One of those was the only career he ever really pushed me on. Auctioneer.
What a gig. Hire a cash goon platoon to prep for a couple days. Sell on Saturday. Walk away with 10%+of what a couple spent a lifetime acquiring.

Interesting to me that hardly anyone mentions Smartpones on these threads, where most kids spend ALL the friggin’ day, watching YouTube’s, movies, porn and listening to music.
