My tuned FWB 124 came out very very well. I tracked down a correct cross pin mount. Now I'm looking for scope suggestions.

I'd like a lightweight, good quality scope that looks good on an older rifle like mine.
Must have AO. A mil dot or some other simple type of ballistically useful reticle is a plus but not a must.
I'm thinking a straight 6X or a 3-9x32, but not locked in to that.

Ive spent a lot on the rifle so far, so I'm not looking to spend new Leupold money. Used Leupold money maybe.

Don't know which Hawke, Athlon, Bushnell, Nikon, Vortex, etc models are springer rated, and they don't make finding out easy.

So if anyone has any real world recommendations I'd be very interested.

Thanks all!

Might not be what you have in mind as far as looks but check out the Hammers 4-12x40.
I have four or five on magnum springers and never had an issue. the reticle is a little heavy but glass is nice.

Here is a Leupold 4xRF on my modified FWB 124.
I found that any higher magnification was not particularly helpful. Strong springers tend to noticeably change POI upon even slight changes in hold. I have found this particularly bothersome when changing shooting positions from bench to sitting to standing to standing supported. Accuracy can be outstanding. You can even hit very small targets (gopher head across the back yard), as long as you shoot using exactly the same position as when you sighted-in. I understand the shifting POI tendency can be reduced through constant, extensive practice which, it seems, I could never quite accomplish.

I've had 3 Hawke Airmax's. They've worked well and 2 have held up over a number of years and lots of rounds down range. However, I'm not shooting a magnum springer.

I believe that Hawke Vanguard series are only rated for up to 12fpe springers. The higher grade models should be OK for magnums.

+1 . . . I have the 3-9x40 really good scope and affordable (I paid $119 on Amazon) Good reputation with springers.
