While you guys were nursing your hangovers, we got ready for the last concrete pour on the patio and walkways. Gotta beat the heat, gunna be 106 today. We'll be ready to start on the landscaping when the last of the concrete is down. It'll be very satisfying to get this behind us next weekend so we can put the lawns in.

It is. It's been working after work and on weekends for 5 months now. Unexpected surprises like needing to install a new drainfield slowed us down but we're knocking it out. I try to do something every single day. It pays off if you stay with it.

We're doing some very heavy duty work right now but there's always maintenance when that's done. Weed spraying, lawn fertilizing and mowing. We're going to dig alot of our own plants this fall so I'm trying to get all the irrigation and soil amendments in before Septemeber. We're trying to think of everything and do it right as we go so it's one-and-done. May not get much hunting in this year but it'll be worth it.

Can't believe the cost of trees these days. What I used to buy for $40 costs $175 now.

I don't know where you reside, but I wish it wasn't so hot here. Summers can get brutal.

Oregon is a fairly dry heat at least it has been on all the forest fires I've been on there. Kind of like a blow-dryer to the face.

106 degrees in Louisiana is a bit more like molten lead.

We timed the last one around a cold snap, but I am concerned with the heat for a next weekend pour. We'll pour early if we do.

Always nice to get the flatwork done. I poured my last bit a few weeks back. Only have some small stuff coming up for some barnyard water repairs and some concrete fenceposts!
