Wow, those are nice! I admire your skill.

I bought a front shooting bag a little while back that is pretty neat. It's segmented and it rolls up, so you can roll it to the height you want. Or unroll it and it acts as a gunsmithing mat. Might be an idea for a future one for you. I mounted an ammo can on my shooting bench and the bag stores inside it, along with a stapler, rear bag etc. Roll up sandbag

That's an interesting design. Unfortunately, to make that from leather would probably be cost prohibitive; it would require ~7sqft to make the one roll whereas I used ~9sqft to make the four bags I posted.

Made it over a weekend as I watched the Formula 1 practice sessions . . .so 3-4 hours? Some of that time was finalizing the design and making templates though; figuring out the math and shapes on the A-Frame so that there was a 0.0", 0.5", and 1.0" drop in height depending on the A-Frame top took some time, and then figuring out how to make the Rabbit Ears took some additional time as well.

My better half thinks I should start custom making these to sell. Is she right? Do you think there's enough interest on the various forums to garner some business? Of course this would be more of a side hustle, and not turned into a business.

Being paid to enjoy a hobby is intriguing and would a nice change, but the market is already flooded with shooting bag makers . . .

I’ll be your first customer if you decide to sell on here. Let me know when and if you make that decision. Thanks and good luck!

Sweet,

and I'm proud of you for the hand stitching. Having done a few items myself, I know the work involved.

Congrats on a fine job!
