He should have been shot the moment he moved forward.
She and potentially others are very lucky she didn't trip going backwards and he went down with one shot.
She definitely needs more training. Looking at the video of the guy filming from the side, he was only about 3-4 feet from her when she fired. Don't let someone bum rush you with a knife. They'll kill ya. I concur.

I am glad she did not get hurt. After the guy said he would kill her and continued to chase her, she should have acted.
I imagine most would pop a couple rounds, not just one, and she reholstered the pistol before he was cuffed. That was shady.

She waited too long. Very charitable of her, but put her in danger. The guy was obviously seeking suicide by cop. Little did he know, I guess, that most people survive handgun wounds, even to the torso. So all he got was a lot of painful recovery time and a prison sentence, and who knows what permanent medical issues connected to the injury. Spot on. Loved the one shot stop. I'm betting it wasn't a 9MM

And... these idiots that grab their phone and get that close to both the officer and the unstable knife wielding attacker have no idea how dangerous that is. If the phone recording guy got shot or stabbed in the melee you know a lawsuit against the police officer, department and city is coming immediately. The cop shot me, I got stabbed and the cop didn't protect me, blah, blah. Stupid azz!

Good shoot, but she should have shot him multiple times as soon as he charged her.
She's lucky he didn't get to her; guy was obviously drunk on high on something or deranged, in any case, he was a danger to all around.

I was a bit surprised that in all the time he’s was chasing her around no one stepped in to help her. Doesn’t seem like a tackle or leg sweep from behind would be that hard to pull off. But whip out your cell phone and get some good Farcebook video seems to be the modern response.

I'm betting it wasn't a 9MM I think the current issue handgun there is the Glock 17 9mm. I think they recently transitioned to the G17 from the G22 40 S&W. Not sure what the department issue ammunition is currently.
