Mine's an old Remington 700 Classic that I've had since new when it caught my eye at a local gunshop a lifetime ago. With a few different factory loads, it's typically .5-.75 accurate, but can do even better with 120g bullets if I do my part. One of my favorite rifles to shoot along with my Win M70 Bob and a Stewart Rifles 7-08 custom.

I only have one. It is a Glenn Gregory rifle built on a 1917 Enfield. I bought it at the Bill Stoecker auction a couple of years ago for $250.00.

I have a Winchester model 70 classic in one. Shoots 120gr Sierra bthp pretty damn good. These were a limited run by Winchester
Then STFU. The rest of your statement is superflous bullshit with no real bearing on this discussion other than to massage your own ego. Suckin' on my titties like you wanted me.

If I recall I had just had my .240 Weatherby for a short period of time when Remington commercially introduced the .25-06. I had to have one so I got one. I also had a Remington 6mm Remington Varmint. I was covered in this range of calibers. I used the .25-06 much more.
Gun Shows are almost as comical as boat ramps in the Spring.

The 25.06 is no doubt a great caliber, I've been shooting one for around 30yrs and it is pure deer poison around here. I like shooting the heavier bullets and my favorite is the Speer 120gr Hot-Cor. The 25.06 is a fast and flat caliber with mild recoil that hits the target hard. I have a Remington CDL and it is my favorite rifle and as accurate as I can be with it.

My only 25-06 is an early Remington 700 Mountain Rifle. I've owned it for about 20 years, killing quite a few critters with it. It sits in a first gen TI stock, with a triggertech trigger. It is pretty picky about what loads it likes, having shot quite a few different weights and make bullets. I've settled on the 117 gr Sierra PH. With IMR 4831, it will print 1/2" 3 shot groups consistently, and works great on whitetails and hogs.

I've more than a few 25-06's here in SD they work great on deer and antelope. I haven't used 1 on elk but know some that have. My 1 st was a mid 1970's M70 pushfeed bought used second hand, guess the original owner traded it off and it didn't take me long to figure out why, it threw a flyer on every 3 shot group. The previous owner screwed in the frt sling swivel stud so far it hit the barrel, fixed that and it was okay . Shot it with a 6x Burris never changed that in 35 years. Worked up a load not hot but accurate with 75 gr WW hp's this taught me that the 25-06 is NOT a prairie dog gun.. a couple of FN sporters ( build on 1) and F I the other.A XL-7 Marlin with short 22" barrel easily the most accurate of all and recently a LNIB ss M700 ADL. IT'S a good cartridge and will do the job but if you like eating what you shoot stay away from 3300+ fps loads with cup & core 100 gr bullets and only shoot straight thru the ribs side to side. MB

A plane old 1st year .25-06 Remington BDL.
Back then people asked what the hell is a .25-06. Even though it was a wildcat for decades. +1 Though I like my Classic 700 too

I prefer classic. Semper Fi I used to run with the hare. Now I'm envious of the tortoise and I do my own stunts but rarely intentionally

I have a Dakota Classic Deluxe with gorgeous wood in 25-06 that I use for Antelope and Deer hunting mostly. Once in a while I use my 280 Rem. for these animals.
Years ago, I ran across an ad for a Ruger Express in 25-06. Thought it was a typo and meant to be 30-06. Nope, it was 25-06 alright. They were never listed in this caliber for the Express. My research so far points to only (6) of these rifles ever made. I bought (3) of them from the ad, and my wife bought one. The guy who found them in the back of a Ruger warehouse bought all six, kept one for him and one for his son to hunt with. Sold the other four to me and my wife.
I use my Dakota and one of these Ruger Expresses every year to hunt Antelope. In the past 25 years, my wife and I have taken about 125 Antelope with these rifles. The 25-06 is a fabulous Pronghorn caliber, kills Deer right now, and although I have never taken this round Elk hunting, I have two petite lady friends that hunt Elk every year with their 25-06s.
I am very big on the 25-06 for Deer/Antelope.

I remember my dad spinning tales on his rem 700 in a 25-06 he used in the early 70’s. He used the 90gr Bullet I’m assuming the Sierra version. He talked about how that thing was laser. The 270 Winchester was absolute garbage. I fell for the line bull chit. Had several 25-06 throughout my younger yrs. Now many yrs later I have several 270 Winchester’s. But still have soft spot for the 25-06, after yrs without owning one I picked that model 70 up last yr. But i will pick up my 270 before my 25-06 up here in Alaska.

Whats your favorite 25-06 build/set-up?
Thanks in advance... 100gn TTSX. Used to be 100gn Hornady but that is in the old days. Also really like the 100gn Partition and the 115gn Partition.

A first generation Savage 110 left handed that was rebarreled to .25-06 before I bought it in the 1980s.I have never had a deer run after being shot with this rifle using 100 grain Hornady flat base soft points or 117 grain Hornady soft points.

I sold mine a while back. It was a Remington 700 BDL and it shot great. I killed a pile of woodchucks in NJ and NY States in the early 1980s with it. It was a terrific deer slayer with the old 120 grain Hornady Hollow Point bullet, too. These days I get by with smaller 25 caliber rifles - 250 Savage and 257 Roberts.

A 1965 Winchester Model 70 that was my Grandfathers rifle. It needed some TLC after being kicked around the family after he passed. Redneck here did the work. Rock #2 barrel, replacement Winchester Featherweight stock. Kept the original trigger. Redneck had to redo most everything. The safety wouldn’t move, trigger was terrible. He did a great job, she is ridiculously accurate. Edit: Forgot, also kept the sling! It’s an old Latigo made in West Germany.

The first rifle I ever had built (still have it) is a 25-06. I had it built with a 26 inch barrel. 100 grain TTSX at 3400 FPS. I’ve killed everything from bull elk to prairie dogs with it.

Not sure if it will work as planned out but it is getting built as we speak. I had a gorgeous #1 and wanted it re-barreled to something different. I finally decided on the 25-06 Ackley Improved in the #1B profile. Barrel is going to be 26" with a 1:7 twist. Should be here in November. Can't wait, 131 gr BJ Ace bullets at 3100-3200 fps

Wow! Beautiful!
I just received back from the gunsmith a Kimber Montana I had rebarrled to 25-06AI. I have decided to hydro-form my brass, and am still waiting on the forming die. Once I get that die, I'll start developing loads for the gun.
For reloading, I'll be going in the opposite direction, though - I will be shooting 98gn and 103gn Hammer Bullets. Should be smok'n fast loads, with devastating terminal performance.
