I’ve had my Franchi 12 gauge several years now. It’s my duck and dove gun. I’m at the point where I’m thinking I need to cerakote it to protect it from all the duck weather. So I guess my questions for those of you who have done this are:

1. What kind of cost can I expect? Probably just go with one color on the metal. Don’t need anything fancy.
2. How has yours held up, are you happy with the cerakoting? Does it still function the same as before?
3. Anyone have recommendations in the DFW, TX area for someone who does this.

Thanks

I have a couple Cerakoted guns and am not impressed with what I have seen from the finish...

I would research nitriding.

Protection in and out, even if you fudge the finish up, you won't
compromise the rotection. As for durability? It's harder than the bare steel.
So it will resist scratches the would actually damage the metal.
Spray on stuff isn't even close to that.

I’ve lost count on how many rifles, shotguns and handguns I’ve had done in Cerakote. I’ve been very pleased with it and it’s held up well. Some wear on the sharp edges of hard use guns
