The neighbor who is the plant pathologist had millions of weeds and up to the knees seeds blowing all over the neighborhood.
He sprays that crap on his lawn too.

I don't care as long as he keeps his lousy weed bed of poison to himself. I'm not a lawn snob like my neighbors.

If your plant pathologist neighbor is spraying the weeds in his yard with either an OTC or commercial weed killer, he must not be trying very hard.

Or he's managed to do a fine experiment in building up herbicide resistant strains.

He isn't.
It looks like he used it each year before putting in his garden except this year. His weeds came in with a vengeance. His whole yard was a chia head full of while puff ball dandelions, wild lettuce, even some thistle and burdock. Like i said, it doesn't matter to me except when I'm down wind.

I'm spending many hours pulling them from my yard, so I don't have much... Right now I'm short of greens and planting an assortment this week in a raised bed. Good soil= good food no matter if domestic or wild IMHO. I don't spray so, I drink my well water too.
If people don't want to try it, fine. Most don't.
Las said he did, so hey. Try the dandelions. My grandma raised healthy boys and girls on lots of them. Poor family too. All super healthy for most of their lives. I like to teach on wild edibles and medicinals locally.

Maybe we should send them some seeds and find out where their chinks are.

Wait a minute....

Ham, dandelion with hot bacon dressing over mashed potatoes.
If I have that on my plate,
I pity those that are eating caviar and lobster.

For sure some fool has planted some of these outdoors by now. They probably are some kind of fast growing invasive species that are resistant to most of our herbicides and we'll be battling them for decades.

That sounds good!
I've put it in with bacon until it just gets crisp.
Then it goes on top of the meal. Nothing better!
Frying it in good salted butter is a close second.
That reminds me that I have some potatoes in the ground that might be big enough now. I'll give your recipe a try for dinner Dillonbuck

We should send them kale seed in reprisal! smirk

Hell no! I like kale. Good for the eyes too. Let them squint., and go blind from macular degeneration.

Dandelions and chickweed - that's the ticket! Maybe some horsetail.

The Chinese sent the kale here in the first place, along with cabbage, kohlrabi, Brussels sprouts, cauliflower, broccoli, and maybe another. All are cultivars of the same species.

The CDC has issued a statement saying that shouldn't be planted under any circumstances. They are advising everyone to bury them.

It grows in China and many other Asian countries but it was brought here in the 1800's from Japan for erosion control.
