Nice story, Paul. Sounds like a good day and a memorable circumstance.
I ate at diner in the little town on the north side of the Grand Canyon (I think it’s called Grand Canyon) and the pretty waitress struck up a conversation with me about my day and ended up sitting in the booth with me for a half hour telling me all about Navaho pottery because I mentioned buying some and she was studying something related to that at Utah St. I was driving around out there for a few weeks 2000mi from home and she was a friendly townie and that was that...just a good memory now.
These are the kind of moments that make up lifetime of good memories, I think.

I have met some of the nicest people out in the Crested Butte area. I call it the happiest place on earth. I don't think I have ever encountered a grumpy person there.

I was at a strip club in Tampa and it was a slow night. This hot dancer tried to get me to buy her a pair of heels because she “forgot hers” and the club mom sells them for $75 a pair. I told her that anyone who focused on her feet was weird and she should do fine getting tips with the body she has. I expected her to go away, but she sat down and asked if I wanted a dance. I said I wasn’t interested. She starts playing on her phone and asks me, “hey, do you like to shoot?” Now I was sure my buddy had given her some intel. I said that I did. She shows me pics her new SBR build and rattles off all the parts like she knew exactly what they were. She then showed me a Winchester 94 and a Colt Python she keeps if the gun grabbers ever ban semi-autos.
