Most people here in Erie, like Smith's. I don't know that I have a "favorite" hot dog but Smith's are damn good. Sorry benchman I guess right now my favorite hot dog would be a sizzledog from the White Turkey in Conneaut Oh (which are deep fried). I guess the ones at Village Green in Kingsville are a close second; I think they are Smith's but deep fried as well. They are both very very good.

Nathan's for store-bought and whatever the recipe is that Indian Valley Meats uses for their moose and caribou dogs.

Koegel. Though they don’t have the same snap as twenty years ago. Cook on grill on upper grate low and slow.

I used to like Ball Park premium all beef franks....but they quit em.
Now I like local hot dogs, Rocky Mountain dogs, and Nathan's.
Never understood the hubbabaloo over the Rocky Mountain hot dogs. All the red dye, they look like monster dog penises. They don't taste bad, but I never bought a second pack.

No one really likes them......especially since they shut down the packing plant 25 years ago. We may not be sophisticated on the Hi Line.....but we are fiercely loyal!

The local Cash & Carry sells these 25-packs of these big ole beef franks. They are a legit one and done hotdog. Similar to Costco Dogs.

Bottom line if it comes from some boutique smokery or a huge production factory, we're talking lips and azzholes here. Don't like it? Add more mustard.

Why eat a hot dog when you can buy these? Every time I’m in Texas we load up at HEB with these.

Around here, it's Gem Pack. It is what all the local stores sell in cello wrapped Styrofoam trays as generic. They are made in Garden City by a small family owned facility.
Nice and firm, possibly a bit greasy raw and cold, but absolutely delicious warmed, grill, steamed, microwave, or fried. It does not matter.

Koegel viennas, Dearborn natural casing, and Vollwerth's natural casing, in that order.
Wife buys Nathan's or Hebrew National for herself and the kids. I think they taste like [bleep].
