What would be the closest match to my 2-7 Kahles CL or American Hunter? I love the size, weight, clarity and overall quality of the one I have and haven't been able to find another.

Possibly the Maven 2-10x38? Guess it would depend on the rig it’s going on

I just got a Vortex Razor LH 1.5-8x32. Sadly the scope has been discontinued, it checks a lot of boxes for me.

This might be close for a smaller scope https://cameralandny.com/shop/tags/...0134-dc6e-00163e9110c0?variation=1449616

Schmidt & Bender used to have a scope that size and might be the only scope that has better optics than the Kahles

There were some Kahles scopes in this and the 2..2-9 range on Ebay.

At the risk of being lynched, how about a Leupold 2.5x8?

That's an outstanding all-around hunting scope.

I bought one of those on sale when they were being discontinued and it's very nice but I just don't like the reticle. I prefer a bold duplex. I may look into getting it changed to duplex.

I do not want a 30mm tube plus it's pretty heavy. I have a Zeiss Victory 1.5-6 that is 30mm and about the same weight. Great scope but there is just something about the Kahles that makes it perfect for me.

I have several Leupolds (no 2.5-8) and they have always been good to me. I compared a 2.5-8 side by side with the Kahles and I just like the Kahles better. Just seems brighter and clearer. I also like the larger low end FOV.

I probably should have mentioned this sooner but the Kahles is on my NULA 50 cal muzzleloader and I'd like to replace the Zeiss Victory 1.5-6 on my NULA 30-06 with a matching Kahles but I can't find one. That would be my ideal but if it's not possible I'd like to get a scope that's of at least equal quality, 1" tube and just as light. That would make the two guns very similar in appearance, weight and handling.

With Leupold's quality taking a dump in the last 5 or 6 years the market seems ripe for someone to make a decently light scope in this sort of power range.
