Paddler has been quiet, and so has Jeffobma. Any guesses?
Matter of fact, JeffObama hasn't posted under this name since April, and Happy Camper shows up in June. Hmmmm.
My bet is Piddler.

Australia was comprised of a number of colonies till Federation in 1901.
During the Boer War 1899-1902, you can see that the different colonies made their own independent troop contributions, then all became part of Aus Commonwealth Forces in the course of the war.
You inspired me to go back and look for an old vhs tape...Breaker Morant. I think that was what the movie was based on. Perhaps Australian troops enlisted for the crown against the Bores. It's been long enough to forget the details. It's something to look forward to watching when I find it and get my player hooked up again.
The movie is GOOD, but HBM was UK born serving his British officer commision in a British regiment (BVC) attached to a British column under a British General. Though BVC did also have some Aus officers.
HBM did serve in the colonial militia South Australian Mounted Rifles prior.
I don't think the movie director hired a proper war historian before writing the script, but may have based it more on Lt. George Wittons book. Lord Kitchener reprieved his death sentence, otherwise he would have got the bullet with Lt. Handcock and Lt. HBM.

It gives you a well rounded view of what cultures and what various power structures are like. I'm glad it's easier to find good sources these days. Back in college, I signed up for U.S. History starting in the mid 1700s. Just an elective. The teacher could not speak enough english to order at a restaurant. He spent the whole class copying from a manual and text book verbatim onto the chalk board. Dropped that african "teacher" and transferred to another class whose teacher was even worse.
College education can be great if the teachers are., But That motivated me to go the way of books, source docs and later videos. Historical reality certainly trumps fiction
This video is much better than the one that I linked to. At least 7 gang members against one sassy mouthed girl for refusal to wear a gag.
It reminds me of a friend who's mother was terrified when a bunch of cars with flashing lights boxed her in for having a dead head light .
Difference is this young woman was man handled .... assaulted. I think this state would give her 5 years for assault of a royal majesties special guard. Who knows what she will suffer for not grovelling.
Just saw the video - It looks like there's a backstory missing here. It's not the norm, and Collingwood has a reputation as a bit of a rough suburb.
If you get hold of the Rest of the Story, please post it here. She sure had a rough mouth, but that's not a jailable offense in these states of America....somebody will surely correct me if I'm wrong. Why she was held by the throat will never start a marxist riot here. It seemed excessive to me.
Oh good another source of great links to stir up the rabble, thanks HC, you are an inspiration.

Actually LV, those sort of shenanigans are par for the course with Victorian coppers, and yes they really do think they are public masters.
And I invite anyone that disputes the Victorian coppers being aught but a criminal gang to inspect the Lawyer X case, there is ample evidence there to shew that the organisation is rotten to the core.
It looks like just another feral that thinks wearing a mask in public doesn't apply to her. Most Victorians do the right thing but there are a few that think rules & regulations don't apply to them
